The Blair County Chamber and the Blair Bedford Builders Association are pleased to have brought the first Canstruction® Competition to Blair County and the Blair County Home & Garden Show in 2010. We had a very successful first year with 7 teams competing. Overall we donated 8,500 pounds of food to 4 area food banks along with cash donations of $465 dollars to each as well.
We are very excited to be bringing the competition back for another year and look forward to seeing the wonderful displays.
1. Teams build structures out of canned goods.
2. All canned items will be donated to area food banks.
3. Competition is open to the public to participate; artists, schools, businesses, churches, community groups, and individuals. Anyone is welcome! Participants are not required to be an exhibitor at the Home & Garden Show.
4. Entries will be displayed on the stage and throughout the Jaffa Shrine building during the Home & Garden Show.
5. Various awards will be given: Best Meal, Best Use of Labels, Structural Ingenuity, Judges Favorite, People's Choice.
6. Size of display 10'x10'
